We aim to create a fun, positive team environment within an individual sport, where children and their families feel supported and become part of the club community. Our focus is on developing racing skills while fostering friendships and a strong sense of community spirit among swimmers of all ages and abilities. As a not-for-profit organisation, every dollar raised or provided by sponsors goes directly back to the swimmers, equipment, or the club itself to ensure the best possible experience for everyone involved.

Thanks to the generosity of our volunteers, race nights are official swim meets, giving members the chance to achieve official times and qualify for external competitions. We are proud to have several high-caliber swimmers who began their journey at our club nights and developed under the guidance of our valued coaches. Our Club Championship and summer season run on Monday nights at Camden Pool from October to April, while winter nights are held at Oran Park Leisure Centre from June to August, all starting at 7pm. Everyone is welcome—come along, enjoy the racing, meet our friendly community, and grab a bite from the BBQ team to see what Camden Swimming Club is all about.

At Camden Swim Club, our coaching team blends extensive experience with a genuine passion for developing swimmers of all ages and abilities. Led by Head Coach Alex Clarke and Assistant Coach Riley Gerstner our program is dedicated to building strong, skilled, and confident athletes both in the pool and open water.

Head Coach – Alex Clarke

Alex Clarke is the Founder, Managing Director, and Head Coach of Harlee Elite Pty Ltd, a high-performance swimming program based in Sydney. With over 15 years of coaching experience, Alex is a Gold Licence Coach who has guided swimmers from grassroots participation to elite international representation.

Throughout his career, Alex has coached athletes selected to Dolphins national teams, including both junior and senior Australian squads, as well as representatives at the Commonwealth Games and World Championships across pool and open water disciplines who have gone onto Olympic selection. His leadership and technical insight have helped shape numerous medal-winning performances at National Championships and international events.

A former competitive athlete himself, Alex brings first-hand understanding of the sport’s demands and the mindset required to excel. His approach balances technical precision, high standards, and a genuine care for all families and swimmers of all ages.

Assistant Coach – Riley Gerstner

Riley is an accomplished and respected coach with proven success at metropolitan, state, and national levels. Coaching over the last 5 years she has consistently achieved podium finishes and set records in both pool and open water events across previous club coaching in the south west area.

Known for her dynamic coaching style and ability to connect with swimmers of all ages, Riley plays a key role in advancing the club’s performance standards. Her deep understanding of race strategy, technical skills, and athlete development has contributed to the continued growth and recognition of Camden Swim Club within the competitive swimming community.

Together, Alex and Riley lead with expertise, passion, and a commitment to excellence — fostering an environment where every swimmer can strive, achieve, and enjoy the journey of becoming their best.

At Camden Amateur Swim Club, our swimmers train year-round through high-quality squad programs provided by Harlee Elite. Sessions are held at both Oran Park Leisure Centre and Camden Pool, offering flexibility and top-tier coaching for all levels. Whether you are just starting out or aiming to compete at a higher level, our squad structure is designed to support your growth and performance in the water.
